Lake Fausse Pointe State Park, St. Martinville, LA
September 10 - 12, 2021 Mosquitoes, mosquitoes, and more mosquitoes! Beautiful park, but the bugs outnumbered us two to one. We arrived on Friday and had planned on staying until Monday - my birthday. But, once again, the weather decided to play with us. And we ended up leaving Sunday afternoon. Tropical Storm Nicholas (came in as a Hurricane 1) was nothing for us, but we couldn't take that chance. The park is located along the Levee outside St. Martinville. It's shady, peaceful, and lots of fishermen were there with their boats. The splash pad for the kids was the best I've seen with several playgrounds throughout the park. The bathrooms were very clean with showers, but the laundry room was closed. There are no restaurants or stores close by, so make sure you bring in everything.
