Chemin-A-Haut, Bastrop, Louisiana
December 10 - 12, 2021 We took the littles with us this time. We left Friday morning and arrived around 1:00 after stopping for lunch at McDonald's in Monroe. While Ricky finished setting up, we rode our bikes to the office to get our tags, but they weren't open yet. So, we rode to one of the playgrounds which they loved. This park is probably my favorite of all the parks we've visited so far. It's beautiful with trails and is designed with children in mind. There is a swimming pool, two storywalk trails, camping, fishing, and cabins. The pavilions that you rent have their own bathrooms and lights. The campsites are large and level. The bathrooms and laundry room were very clean and well-lit. Down at the water there is a tree called the Castle Tree. It is thought to be a thousand years old and is so large you can canoe or kayak through it. I highly recommend this park.
